For those who are wondering where I have been, I got kidnapped by college. It held me hostage for about a month. I managed to escape today, but I heard that it is out looking for me. It won't be long before it finds me again.
Thankfully, fall break is only 2 days away and that means I get to see mi familia!!
I miss them so much! God has truly blessed me with the most amazing parents and brother anyone could ask for. See that freakishly tall boy between my mother and I? That's my LITTLE brother. He's 19, yet he is a foot and 3 inches taller than me. Apparently my parents fed him a lot better than they fed me. That's why my growth is so stunted. I kid I kid, no need to call social services.
Shout out to Michael (my broski) for walking on the Memphis football team! I cannot wait to see what God has in store for him!! Or me, because who knows maybe Michael will become friends with some hunk of a football player named Derek and we will fall madly in love.
A few weeks ago, I visited my family for the weekend. We went to a festival. The two main reasons I wanted to go there was: a. CORNDOGS and b. Weenie dog races. If you know me, you know I LOVE corndogs, especially ones from a festival or a fair. Anywho, we got to watch little dachshunds race each other, or attempt to.
Here's a video of the first bracket:
I have now decided that I am going to save up my money for a dachshund so that I can enter him in these races. He's gonna be a beast. Every dachshund will tremble in fear at the sound of his name. Green bandana weenie got nothing on him.
Actually, mine will probably turn out to be the pup who runs off in the wrong direction.
Well, I'd write more, but I have got to get some stuff done before I go to my flag football game. Don't worry, I'm wearing a really attractive mouth guard so that I don't bust my lip open again.

Wenshday Schwimsday 8/31/11
Yesterday, I was on the book of faces and noticed that last year on 8/31/10 my status was "scars on the lip suck." Past Meghan was a wise one. They do indeed suck.
This was a few days after a girl decided to ram her head into my face whilst playing flag football. My lip swole up real big and made it very difficult to eat. Every time I lifted my drink to take a sip of water, the water would pour out of my mouth. I look like I had drooled all over myself. It was like I had a hole in my lip or something. Wait, I did. It's all good though, because I got all stitched up and you can barely see my scar.
Here's a lovely picture of me right after the doc stitched me up. I would show you pictures of what it looked like a few days later, probably when I wrote that "stitches on the lip suck" but I'll spare you.
Also, I forgot to post about a random happening that occurred a few days ago.
I had just parked and was walking to the dumpster at my apartment to throw away a box. As I approached, I noticed something standing on the dumpster.
It was a raccoon! I got really excited. I had never been that close to a raccoon before. Now, I know these things carry the rabies, but I really wanted to get closer. So, I began talking to it like I talk to my dog.
"Hey, wittle raccoon, it's okay...I'm just throwing a box away..."
Well, I think my baby talk was freaking the critter out, so I began to make noises to get his attention. It worked, and I managed to snap this photo:
Then I told the raccoon that I had to throw my box away and to not be scared and attack me. I turned around and my neighbor was staring at me. From where he was standing, it looked like I was talking to the dumpster. I awkwardly laughed and walked away. I should have told him there was a raccoon there. Unfortunately, I didn't and now he thinks I'm that crazy girl that talks to dumpsters...
You may also be thinking I'm that crazy girl that talks to raccoons. Well, that my dear friend, is correct.

Yikes!
I am terrible at this! I thought this was going to be easy...but a few days go by and then you realize that you have forgotten to blog.
So, here's what you missed on Meghan's "Victory Lap":
Thursday:
I drug this lady to my psychology class. This is Hui Ju. She is from Taiwan. She was living with Leslie, Jordan, and I at our apartment the last month. She's Leslie's friend from high school. Anyways, I made her come to my social psychology class. Throughout the class, she would notify me on any boy she thought in the class room was cute. In fact, she decided to tell me that the one who was sitting beside me was cute and that I should date him. This became awkward because I am pretty sure the boy overheard.
Friday:
I didn't take any pictures. But here's a video for your enjoyment.
If you didn't laugh at that. You are no longer allowed back at my blog. I kid I kid. But seriously, what's wrong with you?!
Sunday:
After Church, I printed all this out:
And then I read it. That's 100+ pages ofcrap intellectually stimulating articles and notes. And if you look closely, you'll see dear ol' Pride and Prejudice. I didn't print that, she snuck in the picture. And guess what? She's what I got to read all day Monday. woop. woop. (total sarcasm if you didn't catch it)
Monday:
I read Pride and Prejudice...and the rest of those papers. I also got a new pair of black high heels! Yay!
Since I didn't do much that day...I didn't take a picture. Or maybe I just forgot to. You decide. I'm not going to post another random picture though. Deal with it.
Tuesday:
I had class from 9:40 am to 8:30 pm. Talk about pure enjoyment. I did have little breaks in between, but I spent them doing homework. Oh, it's an exciting life for me. But...since I take so many classes on Tuesday and Thursday...that means I don't have any classes on Monday or Friday and only a lab on Wednesday. So I'll stop complaining.
I had bought some chalkboard paint on Monday. When I got home from class, I was dying to paint something with it. So, what did I paint you ask?
Rocks.
Don't make fun. I couldn't find anything else that I could paint. The rocks were just laying there outside my apartment begging to be painted. What will I do with them? I have no idea.
If you want me to paint you a rock. I will. You can buy one from me for the low low price of $75. If you act quickly I'll take $2.99 off. You won't find one's like these anywhere else.
But seriously, if you want a chalkboard painted rock. I'll give you one. Because, if I can't find anything else to paint with this chalkboard paint, I'm going to end up with 50 painted rocks, and that is no bueno. Oh, and if you do decide to make your own, don't sit them on the floor. They are great toe-stubbers.

Saturday:
I went to a new food place here called the Cookout. If you haven't tried it I suggest you get off your computer right now, grab your keys, and drive yourself. What's that? You're not hungry? I don't care. Go. Now. You won't regret it.
My friend, Andrew's birthday was Saturday so we all got together to play volleyball. I miss it. I would play everyday for hours if I could.
Once again, I managed to not take a single picture. Happy pup says you should forgive me.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
So apparently, I'm not that good at blogging everyday. Who'da thunk.
Here's a picture of what I did most of the day Monday:
I havethe pleasure of reading to read this book for my English class. My English professor taught us new words to call women who sleep around (or what we call today, sluts). For example, there is strumpet, slattern, and my personal favorite....trollop. If I start calling you a trollop, do not worry, I do not think you are a women of ill repute, I just like the word. :)
Tuesday:
I get to pass this gorgeous building on my way to my Social Psychology class. This is to me, the most beautiful building on campus. It is where they have math classes. I took my math classes there when I was a freshman, but it was before they did the renovations, which means no air conditioning.
Wednesday:
I actually did not take a picture. I wanted to take a picture of my zumba class, but I thought everyone would look at me weird if I just stopped dancing and took a picture of them. That's creepy with a capital C. So, I refrained, and before I knew it the day was over and I had not taken a picture. So, instead I will leave you with a picture of this:
It's called eleplanking. It's all the rage.

Sunday and Me - 8/21/11
Sunday, I was able to go back to my church here in Knoxville. I missed it so much!
Afterwards, Amy, Hui Ju, Leslie, and I went to the outlet mall. for a long long time. We were there for so long I had time to take a picture with my baby:
Isn't he just adorable?! He's a little vol fan! He wants to grow up and be the quarterback for the Vols.
Now that I think about it, it's probably creepy that I'm posing with a headless baby mannequin..but at the time it seemed like a good idea.

Saturday in the Park - 8/20/11
This here's a picture of a house you can see from a park. Karly and I went walking and came across this.
Here is my thought process:
Oh, and I also thought, if you are going to live where people can see your house from miles away...at least make it a pretty house. geez.
Now to tell you about Mallory and I's adventure that took place not this weekend but last.
The plan was to drive to Nashville, spend the afternoon walking around downtown, and then drive about 45 minutes out to go to our friend Lindsey Jo's baby shower. Afterwards, we were going to stay the night at Mallory's brothers apartment.
Here's how it actually went:
Mallory and I left around 11:30 that Saturday. We stop at Chic-fil-a and realized that we had left the baby shower invitation at home. Mallory said she was pretty sure that the baby shower was at 6 or 6:30. Once we get into Nashville, we decided to go on and text Lindsey Jo and make sure we knew what time the baby shower started. Lindsey Jo said it started at 2:00.
It was 1:50. Oops. I frantically jump into the back of Mallory's SUV and wrap the presents with wedding gift bags because we didn't buy any baby shower ones. Then we realize that we don't have the address to the baby shower. I text Lindsey Jo again and thanks to the wonderful iphone technology I am able to get directions to the shower. Mallory gets us there in 20 minutes. (It takes 45 minutes when you are driving like a sane person)
Mallory was still dressed in a t-shirt and shorts, no makeup, and hair not done. When we got there she got ready in the back of her car. I don't know how that girl did it but she got out of the car looking like she had just spent the last hour getting ready. Bravo Mallory, I would not have looked like that if I only had five minutes!
After the baby shower was over, Lindsey Jo and Bryant invited us to come see their house and Isaac Henry's room-to-be. We put the baby shower cake in our car because they didn't have room in theirs. Isaac Henry's room was so cute! So was the rest of the house, of course, that Lindsey Jo is one creative girl!
Mallory's brother said that he had tickets to a Titans game and wanted to know if we wanted them. I have never been to a NFL game so we were all for it. We left Lindsey Jo's house and headed to Kinko's to print off the tickets. About 20 minutes out we get a call from Lindsey Jo.
We still had the cake in our car.
Bryant came and got the cake from us and we were back on the road. Then we hit the traffic. We barely moved. Fortunately, we finally got to the Kinkos. We get to the computer and it won't accept any form of debit or credit card. (you have to pay to use the internet...seriously?) An employee gets it to work after 5 minutes of us trying and we log on to accept the tickets.
We had to accept them at 6:50.
It was 7:20.
You have got to be kidding me. This day just wasn't going quite like we had planned for it to. We leave and pull up to the gas station.
Out of order.
We get to Mallory's brothers apartment. He tells us his roommate is out for the night and that she said we were welcome to sleep in her bed. I felt kind of weird sleeping in some rando's bed...but Mallory knew her and I was exhausted so I didn't mind. Around 2 am we go to sleep.
4:30 am. The door opens and the light turns on. I jump up. I have my retainer in and my pj's on. I look like a goof. The girl wasn't out after all, in fact she sat on the bed and began having a conversation with Mallory about her married life. Are you serious? It's 4 freaking 30. She turns to me and I say with a lovely lisp that we will go sleep on the couch in the living room. She says no that we can all just squeeze into the bed...AWKWARD.
We decide to pass. We go in the living room and one of her friend's is sleeping on the couch. So where did we end up sleeping for the next 4 hours? I slept in a recliner. Mallory slept on the floor. We each used a jacket as our blanket...
Here is my thought process:
- How in the world does that person mow their lawn!?
- What if they just stepped a little too far? They would surely plummet to their death!
- There ain't no way I'd walk anywhere around that!
- What if they had children?
- "Hey ma, we're gonna go play tag in the backyard."
- Next thing you know one of them runs in to tell ma that little jimmy was running too fast and couldn't stop soon enough....
Oh, and I also thought, if you are going to live where people can see your house from miles away...at least make it a pretty house. geez.

8/19/2011
So, I realized that I am not going to be able to post a picture from the day on the day that I took the picture because...the day wouldn't be over yet, and I might have something more to say about that day but I already posted! Does that make sense?
So, here's my post about yesterday:
I don't have classes on Friday (or Monday, but that's beside the point, I just wanted to make the rest of you jealous) :)
So, I really didn't do much of anything. I slept. I ate. and I made a bunch of these things:
Then, I got to hang out with these crazy people last night:
Kevin's house had a chalkboard wall. I want it. I wonder how mad the apartment management would get if I just painted one of our walls with chalkboard paint...
Stay tuned because tomorrow I plan on telling you about Mallory and I's weekend in Nashville and our crazy Saturday!

These little flowers are a pain in the butt. Each one is made out of six circles and then you sew them together to make the flower. Trace the circles, cut out the circles, sew them together. Trace the circles, cut out the circles, sew them together. Over and Over again. We have to make many of these flowers in order to make the garland we are wanting to decorate our apartment with. I'll upload a picture when we get done with it, but that may be months from now, because after making about fifteen of these your hand feels like it may fall off. All I have to say is it better be dang cute!
Then, I got to hang out with these crazy people last night:
